The Mountaineering Council of Scotland has revamped its website, with a new up-to-date look.

Navigation is easier, and there’s a free map of Glencoe and Ben Nevis on offer to anyone who signs up for membership. Three short YouTube films are also on the site, excerpts from longer DVDs covering ice-axe self-arrest (see above); crevasse rescue, and roping up for glaciers.

The Perth-based MCofS represents mountaineers, hillwalkers and climbers in Scotland. The new website also has a survey aimed at finding out how responsible are both recreational users of Scotland’s access areas and its land managers.
