Rob the Rubbish, the one-man mountain clean-up campaign, has a new website address.

His old one, he says, has been taken over by an American company which he says is trying to capitalise on his fame. Rob has led litter-picking forays on some of Britain’s best known mountains and hills and has made the tidying up of the country’s wild areas his mission since his retirement from social work.

Past exploits have included litter picking on Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Pen-y-fan, and even Everest base camp. He has attended a reception at 10 Downing Street and featured on Griff Rhys Jones’s Mountain series.

More often than not, you’ll find him in his Rob the Rubbish high-visibility jacket with a couple of bin bags and a litter picker on a mountain somewhere.

The 63-year-old, whose career cleaning up Britain began when he took to getting out of his bed at 5am to tidy up his home town of Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys, plans to clean up Ben Nevis again in November this year during a visit to a friend’s 40th birthday in nearby Spean Bridge.
