Three outdoors activists received gongs in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Alfie Ingram, who chairs the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland and has been a voluntary member since the 1950s, was awarded the MBE. Mr Ingram, of Dundee, is also leader of the Tayside team. He received his award for services to mountain rescue in Scotland.

Nicola Lyons, of Callington, Cornwall, also received the MBE for her volunteer work with the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and for her involvement in mountain rescue operations.

The third MBE went to Robert Berry, a footpath work officer with the Ramblers’ Association. He gained his medal for voluntary service to footpath access in the Mendip Hills.
