A Newcastle University student wants to know how you go walking.

GPS use is among the subjects of Caroline Snowdon's survey

Caroline Snowdon, an MSc student, is particularly interested in how you navigate while out in the countryside. She has devised an online questionnaire which takes about five minutes to complete.

Ms Snowdon will also be running evening focus groups this month at the university and needs volunteers. The questionnaire centres on which methods walkers use when navigating, such as map and compass, GPS, guide books and other methods.
