Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was in action today after a 68-year-old woman was injured on a Lakeland fell.

The walker, from Dartford, Kent, slipped while with her family on Sheffield Pike, above Glenridding, injuring her knee.

The rescuers were called to her aid at 2pm today, Monday. 11 members helped treat the woman and take her by stretcher to the team’s vehicle, which ferried her to the team’s base in Patterdale. She was then taken by ambulance to Carlisle Infirmary.
