A major search is underway for a walker missing on Snowdon.

Members of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team have been joined by handlers from the Search and Rescue Dogs Association in the hunt for the man, in his 40s, from the Liverpool area. A Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley on Anglesey is also involved in the search.

The alarm was raised at 4am this morning and the operation is taking place in driving rain and poor visibility.

The walker’s car was found in a car park in Llanberis. Team members are searching both the mountain and the Llanberis Pass for the missing man.
