Missing man Keith Webster was last seen in Llanberis

Police today renewed their appeal to walkers who may have seen a man who has been missing since Monday.

A major search has been conducted on Snowdon and in the Llanberis area for 46-year-old Keith Webster, who was last seen in the Electric Mountain car park at Llanberis about 10.15am on 20 July. Officers from North Wales Police today began distributing posters around the area in the hope someone will recognise the man and come forward.

Mr Webster, from the Liverpool area, is described as about 1.73m (5ft 8ins) tall, medium build, with brown eyes. He is bald and has a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket and jeans, black trainers and was carrying a small black rucksack.

Sergeant Non Gibson from Caernarfon police station is urged anyone who may have seen Mr Webster to contact officers. She said: “We are concerned for Mr Webster’s safety and are appealing to anybody who may know of his whereabouts, or to anyone who may have seen a man of a similar description to contact us immediately.

“We are particularly keen on speaking to anybody who has been walking in the area and who may have seen him to get in touch.”

Mountain rescue teams were joined in the hunt for the missing man by members of the Search and Rescue Dogs Association, the RAF and police officers.

Anyone who may have seen him or who may know of his whereabouts is asked to contact North Wales Police on 0845 607 1001 – Welsh line – or 0845 607 1002 – English line.
