The Dales will now have a full daily weather forecast from MWIS

Walkers and climbers in the Yorkshire Dales now have an improved weather forecast service.

The independent Mountain Weather Information Service has extended the area covered by its Peak District reports to include the Yorkshire Dales national park.

Previously, only part of the western Dales was covered by the forecasts. Now, the weather reports for the area cover both the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales national parks and the area immediately between them, such as the South Pennines and the Forest of Bowland.

The service has also been expanded and is updated every day, rather than just the weekend as previously. The forecasts for Snowdonia are also now available seven days a week.

The full forecasts can be found on the Mountain Weather Information Service website.
