A walker was rescued after injuring himself on a Lakeland fell.

The 17-year-old suffered a dislocated knee while walking on the fells above Buttermere.

Eighteen members of the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team responded to the callout at 10pm on Saturday and the man was carried on a stretcher from the hill to a waiting ambulance in the village of Buttermere.

He was then taken to West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
