The walker who died after falling from a Lakeland fell has been named by police.

Peter Huntley, 55, of Preston, Lancashire, fell to his death from a ledge above Blea Water in the High Street range yesterday.

Penrith and RAF Kinloss Mountain Rescue Teams went to Mr Huntley’s aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was carried from the fell by the RAF Kinloss team.

Cumbria Constabulary said Mr Huntley’s family and the coroner have been informed.
