Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team receives the signed print from artist Goff Danter

An artist has donated a limited edition print of one of his works to help raise funds for rescuers.

Goff Danter’s signed print has gone on sale in an Abergavenny art gallery to help boost the coffers of the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team.

A spokesperson for the team said: “Morning Mist is a painting depicting the morning mist on the rolling hillside that Goff often woke up to as a young boy.

“This image was selected by the mountain rescue team as it strongly represented their current campaign So Much More than Mountains, which promotes the full extent of mountain rescue teams’ activities which is not just limited to hill searches and rescues, but also includes working with the emergency services in all kinds of outdoor situations including cave rescues, flood and swift water rescues and missing person searches.

“Many of Goff’s paintings feature familiar welsh landscapes including wild, wind-blown hillsides, fast flowing streams, waterfalls and dramatic skies,”

The team said it was over the moon with the donation. Martin’s Gallery, where the print is on sale, has also donated the frame.

The volunteer team, which carries out rescues in and around the Brecon Beacons, said wellwishers could also donate online or by texting 70070 with the text CBMR01 followed by £ and the amount in pounds they wish to donate.
