A woman was rescued after slipping and injuring herself while walking in the Yorkshire Dales.

The 64-year-old slipped on wet grass and injured her ankle near Jubilee Cave, above the village of Langcliffe near Settle.

The Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation, which goes to the aid of stricken cavers, climbers and fellwalkers, was alerted about 12.10pm today, Thursday.

Team members treated the woman at the scene and she was then taken to a team vehicle, which transported her to a waiting ambulance above Langcliffe.
