Park Fell, scene of the rescue

A walker was rescued from a fell after injuring herself in a slip.

The 62-year-old woman was coming down Park Fell in the Yorkshire Dales yesterday when she suffered a suspected broken ankle in the incident.

The Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation was alerted about 5.10pm and team members went to the aid of the walker, who had been heading for Ribblehead.

She was treated at the scene and then stretchered to a waiting ambulance at Colt Park Farm.

The incident was the 48th of the year for the team, which carries out rescues both on the fells and in the caves of the area.
