A walker was rescued from a Lakeland fell after injuring her leg in a fall.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 1.45pm on Saturday after the woman’s fall in the Beacon Tarn area.

Ten volunteer team members went to the aid of the woman on the fell, west of the southern end of Coniston Water and she was treated at the scene before being stretchered from the scene to a waiting Land Rover.

She was then taken to Furness General Hospital, Barrow in Furness, for further treatment.
