The woman who died after falling from a Snowdonia mountain has been named as Anna Campiche.

Ms Campiche, 26, of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, was originally from Switzerland.

She fell 100m (330ft) from Crib y Ddysgl on Wednesday while making her way from Crib Goch towards Garnedd Ugain on the Snowdon massif.

Three mountain rescue teams, Llanberis, Aberglaslyn and RAF Valley went to Ms Campiche’s aid and she was airlifted by RAF Sea King helicopter to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, but pronounced dead.

An inquest was opened and adjourned.

  • Our report originally misspelt Ms Campiche’s first name. This was based on information provided by North-West Wales Coroner’s Office. We apologise for the error.
