A climber was injured she fell more than 150ft from a Highland crag.

The woman was on Creag Dhubh near Newtonmore today when the accident happened.

Police said the climber fell about 50m (165ft) about 1pm.

Her companion managed to lower her to the ground, but she suffered suspected head and spinal injuries in the fall.

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team was alerted and they and a trauma doctor treated her at the scene before she was carried from the crag to the road.

The woman was then taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital by ambulance.
