The woman fell near the foot of Malham Cove, the 80m crag in the Yorkshire Dales

A walker was rescued after suffering a head injury in the Yorkshire Dales.

The 71-year-old woman fell on rocks at the foot of Malham Cove today.

The Cave Rescue Organisation was called out shortly before 1pm and members went to the woman’s aid.

A team spokesperson said: “Following treatment by paramedics the casualty was assisted to a CRO vehicle and transported up to a road ambulance near Malham village.”
