One of the more intriguing items on show at the recent Outdoor Trade Show was Kelty’s TrailLogic system, an integrated rucksack, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and tent designed to fit together in a pack that uses no zips.

The PK50 is the 50-litre rucksack into which it all goes.

Kelty said it is engineered for optimum load-carrying comfort and is available in men and women’s versions and can be converted into a 35-litre pack thanks to the detachable 15-litre front compartment.

The flip-open design ensures quick, easy access to essentials stored inside, and its innovative design includes a variety of compartments and features, from stretchy mesh pockets to an integrated rain cover.

The main compartment can store a sleeping bag, and the roll-top closures in each of the three compartments enhance compression as well as making it easier to get to gear in the lower reaches of the pack.

The 50-litre unit weighs 1.5kg and will retail at £149.

Kelty’s TrailLogic SB20 sleeping bag which will sell for £249.99 is technical and lightweight at just 0.95kg.

It features 800-fill DriDown down technology, which protects against moisture and keeps the user warm down to – 7C.  It also has waterproof protection strategically positioned at the head and foot, for defence from humidity and tent condensation on cool, damp nights.

The SB20 also features full-length, dual-slider zip vents, which enables the user convert the sleeping bag into a quilt on warm nights.

The Colorado-based company said the sleeping mats in the TrailLogic range mould themselves to the body to ensure comfort and keep weight to a minimum.

“Carry size is also reduced, thanks to each mat fitting into a unique envelope stuff sack that can be easily placed in any pack. A bio-mapped die cut pattern design helps reduce weight and bulk while increasing warmth.”

Completing the set, the TrailLogic tent is compact and boasts a Stargazing Fly, which rolls up for unobstructed views.

Kelty said: “Available in two-person TN2 or three-person TN3, the tents are quick and easy to set up thanks to their revolutionary snap-clip technology, and the compact poles mean that packing up is simple.”

Expect to see the Kelty TrailLogic gear hit the UK’s shops just before this Christmas.
