A bothy in mid-Wales will be out of bounds to outdoor fans next month.

The Nant Rhys building will be closed to the public while major repairs are carried out.

The Mountain Bothies Association, which cares for the shelter, said the maintenance work involves the replacement of the roof, and the building will be closed to walkers and other users from 7 to 20 October.

The Nant Rhys bothy is in the forest south-east of Pumlumon Fawr near the Wye Valley. The building, which is accessible only on foot or by mountain bike, is owned by the Forestry Commission and maintained by the MBA.
