Rescuers searching for a man missing in Knoydart have found a body.

Police had requested walkers to be on the lookout for Colin Barnfather, 54, who was reported missing after heading off for a walking and camping expedition in the Kinloch Hourn area at the end of September.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said a body had been recovered in a search involving local mountain rescue teams, Search and Rescue Dogs Association members and a Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.

The spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and a report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Inverness.”
