A walker was stretchered from a Lake District fell after slipping and injuring his ankle.

The 65-year-old man was on Snockrigg overlooking Buttermere today when the incident happened.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 5.15pm and 19 volunteer members went to the scene, west of Robinson.

A Cockermouth MRT spokesperson said: “He was treated on the scene by the team and carried to a waiting ambulance.”
