A search for a walker missing in the Highlands has been called off overnight.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team was joined by a Royal Navy Sea King search and rescue helicopter from HMS Gannet in the hunt for the solo walker in the Ring of Steall area.

Rescuers said the search for the missing man will resume tomorrow in the Mamores, with help from the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and the RAF.

A Lochaber MRT spokesperson said weather conditions are not good. Avalanche debris has been found by team members in the area.

The team advised anyone going on to the Lochaber mountains to leave a detailed route card before heading out.
