Mr Blowman's body was found in Piers Gill

Police have confirmed the body found near Scafell Pike was that of missing walker Christopher Malcolm Blowman.

Rescue teams searching for Mr Blowman found the body in Piers Gill, a deep ravine leading off the Corridor Route, on Thursday.

His wife reported the 67-year-old, of Carlton, Louth, Lincolnshire, missing when he failed to return from a walk on the mountain.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesperson said: “His family have been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and details have been passed to the coroner.”
