The runner collapsed near Sulber

A fellrunner collapsed while taking part in a race in the Yorkshire Dales.

The 36-year-old man was competing in the Austwick Fell Race today when he got into difficulties near Sulber on the slopes of Ingleborough.

Members of the Cave Rescue Organisation, who were on duty in Austwick for a festival, responded about 2pm and treated the man after he was brought down to Crummack Farm by a vehicle.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
