A man suffered multiple injuries in a 200ft fall while scrambling in the Lake District.

The 23-year-old local man fell from Grasmoor today while tackling a route up the 852m (2,795ft) mountain.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 1.50pm and 21 volunteer members were involved in the rescue of the man.

A team spokesperson said he landed on a ledge which his companions were unable to access.
