A group of walkers was guided to safety after getting lost on a Snowdonia peak.

Rescuers said the three people had no map or compass.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 12.30pm yesterday when the trio got lost in mist on Cnicht.

A team spokesperson said the group got lost after reaching the summit. No-one in the party had any adequate navigation equipment, the spokesperson added.

“Using his local knowledge, a member of the Aberglaslyn team was able to guide the party to a well trodden path over the telephone. The incident ended at 1.40pm when the party reached the village of Croesor,” the spokesperson said.
