Two walkers were rescued from the Old Man of Coniston after getting lost.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 4.35pm on Friday when the pair reported themselves lost while coming down the mountain towards Goats Hawse.

Eleven volunteers from the team took part in the rescue.

A Coniston MRT spokesperson said: “The walkers were found cold, but uninjured above Goats Hawse by team members and escorted off the fell.”
