The man's body was found on Helvellyn

The body of a man has been found on England’s third-highest mountain.

Members of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team made the discovery today on Helvellyn.

Cumbria Constabulary said formal identification has not yet taken place and its inquiries are continuing.

The coroner will be informed, police added.
