Rescuers are appealing to walkers and climbers to be on the lookout for gear that was left on a Cairngorms mountainside after its owner was airlifted to hospital.

The kit is somewhere below the Fiachaille Buttress in Coire an t-Sneachda on Cairn Gorm and belongs to the 25-year-old climber who was injured in a fall on Saturday.

The missing kit consists of a red Berghaus Arête 35litre rucksack with a walking pole on its side; two Black Diamond Viper climbing axes and a set of car keys.

Anyone who finds the climber’s gear is asked to contact Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team member Heather Morning on 0778 886 1431 or drop it in at Glenmore Lodge, the National Mountain Centre near Loch Morlich below the CairnGorm Mountain ski centre.

The climber, who is in hospital following the fall, was visiting the area from Wales and his girlfriend who is also in Highlands, urgently needs to find the car keys in particular.
