The missing woman was found at the base of Malham Cove

A woman suffering from hypothermia was rescued from a Yorkshire Dales beauty spot.

The Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation was called out about 6.55pm on Tuesday evening after the missing 43-year-old’s car was found in a car park in Malham.

The team used a search dog and handler to cover the top of Malham Cove while a small team search at the foot of the 80m (260ft) limestone crag.

A team spokesperson said: “The casualty was quickly found, suffering from hypothermia, at the foot of the cove. Following treatment she was stretchered a short distance to a team vehicle for transport down to the village and transfer to a road ambulance.”
