A walker was rescued after collapsing in the Lake District.

The woman from Lamplugh, Cumbria, was walking round the Crummock Water shore today when she got in to difficulties.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 2.50pm and provided medical attention to the woman before stretchering her to a waiting ambulance at Scale Hill car park north of the lake.

The rescue involved 24 volunteer team members.
