This year's ISPO event will host the PrimaLoft coat swap

Outdoor retailers visiting a giant European trade show are being offered the chance to swap their jackets for a brand new one, and help homeless people.

PrimaLoft’s retailer coat swap at the upcoming ISPO event in Munich means visitors can help the city’s Obdachlosenhilfe St Bonifaz charity and walk away with a brand new insulated jacket.

The offer is open to visiting retailers who can leave their slightly worn coats in return for a garment containing PrimaLoft’s Gold Insulation Down Blend, which uses a combination of water repellent, ultra-fine denier fibres and water-repellent, fluorocarbon-free treated premium down.

Jochen Lagemann, the company’s managing director for Europe and Asia, said: “The PrimaLoft coat swap makes it easy for the retail community attending the show, to help those less fortunate people to stay warm.

“We appreciate the opportunity to give back to a good cause in Munich, the city that hosts the ISPO Show every year, and our European headquarters.”

ISPO is one of the major showcase events for brands to unveil new products that will be appearing in shops throughout Europe later in the year.

PrimaLoft said its Gold Insulation Down Blend has comparable warmth in construction to 750 fill-power goose down, retains more than 95 per cent of warmth when wet, and dries four times faster than untreated down. Since its launch in autumn-winter 2014, it said it has doubled the number of brands using PrimaLoft Performance Down Blend for the coming cold season.
