The Keswick Mountain Festival music event will again be staged on the shore of Derwent Water

A Mercury Music Prize winner and chart-toppers from the Britpop era will entertain crowds at this year’s Keswick Mountain Festival.

Damon Gough, better known as Badly Drawn Boy, will top the bill on the opening night, with Dodgy headlining on Saturday.

The music concerts will be staged on the shore of Derwent Water during the May festival.

Also on the bill for Friday will be Celtic fusion band Peatbog Faeries, singer songwriter Annemarie Quinn and four-piece folk band Room Full of Mirrors.

Folk performer Seth Lakeman and Danny and the Champions of the World will take to the stage on the Saturday, with acoustic folk star Lisbee Stainton, and local act Jack & Paddy.

Bolton-based Gough came to prominence with his top-selling album The Hour of Belwilderbeast and wrote the soundtrack to the film About a Boy.

Dodgy’s hits include Staying Out for the Summer and Good Enough.

Lucy Scrase, Keswick Mountain Festival director, said: “The addition of live music to Keswick Mountain Festival proved to be a big success last year and we’re sure that the 2015 line up will prove to be even more popular.

“With Derwent Water and the Lakeland fells in the background, the setting is really stunning, and we have secured some great acts who should appeal to visitors of all ages.”

Keswick Mountain Festival will take place from 14 to 17 May and, along with the live music, includes a range of outdoor activities, speakers, sports events and family-friendly attractions. Tickets for all 2015 Keswick Mountain Festival events and more information are available via the festival website.
