A scheme that allows outdoor enthusiasts to donate their unwanted gear for younger users is again offering discounts on new clothing at Rohan stores.

Gift Your Gear is urging everyone to look around their wardrobes, attics and garages for any unwanted outdoor clothes.

During March, anyone dropping off their outdoor kit at branches of Rohan can get 15 per cent off a full-price Rohan purchase on the day.

Organisers said: “Gift Your Gear gratefully accepts all unwanted waterproofs, fleeces, outdoor trousers, insulated jackets, gloves, hats and boots that are gathering dust in wardrobes, attics and garages, when they could be gathering mountain miles.

“Having the right clothing and equipment helps to ensure that outdoor experiences are safe and enjoyable.

“The outdoor gear you donate will make a real difference to the UK community organisations, youth groups and charities who receive it. Enabling others to benefit from life-changing experiences in the great outdoors regardless of their circumstances.”

Sarah Howcroft, founder of the Gift Your Gear scheme, said: “Young people need to get outdoors for their physical and emotional wellbeing.

“The sun doesn’t always shine so the gear you donate will help ensure their early experiences in the great outdoors are safe and enjoyable.”

The Gift Your Gear collaboration with Rohan will run throughout March.
