A cyclist was injured after crashing while coming down a Lake District pass.

The Great North Air Ambulance was scrambled at 12.50pm from its base near Penrith and flew to the scene on the Honister Pass today.

A man in his 30s from Hertfordshire suffered multiple injuries in the incident. He was treated at the scene by medics from the helicopter.

He was then taken to hospital by a road ambulance for further treatment. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
