Rescuers searching for a walker missing in the Highlands since Saturday have found a body.

The discovery was made in the Ben Oss area by teams hunting for Daniel Bennett, who was last seen in Tyndrum at the weekend.

Police had appealed to walkers for sightings of the experienced hillwalker, who had not made contact since being seen at the Green Welly Stop in the village on Saturday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police and their partners in Forth Valley division searching for Daniel Bennett have recovered a man’s body.

“A large-scale search operation involving Police Scotland, Killin Mountain Rescue Team, Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, Tayside Mountain Rescue Team, Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team, Search and Rescue Dogs Association and RAF Mountain Rescue Team has been ongoing since the 43-year-old was reported missing on the Tyndrum hills on Saturday.
