The man was walking on Pike of Carrs above Far Easedale

A walker was airlifted from a Lake District fell after slipping and dislocating both knees.

The Great North Air Ambulance joined members of Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team who when to the aid of the 67-year-old walker on Pike of Carrs about 4pm on Sunday.

The man, from Blackpool, was treated at the scene above Far Easedale by team members, who were flown to the site by the helicopter, and the crew of the air ambulance.

He was then stretchered to the aircraft and flown to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for further treatment.
