Teams are searching Ben Nevis for the lost walker

A search has resumed for a missing walker believed to be on Ben Nevis.

The operation to find London man Kyle Knox was suspended overnight but resumed this morning.

Members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team have been joined by colleagues from the Glencoe team and the RAF Mountain Rescue Team, along with animals and handlers from the Search and Rescue Dogs Association.

Weather on the mountain is said to by rescuers to be ‘awful’.

A Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth has also joined the search, likely to be one of its last operations as the Coastguard-run civilian search and rescue service begins today in the area.

Mr Knox, 23, was reported missing yesterday after failing to return to his accommodation in Fort William. He was last seen about 10am on Monday.
