A climber was rescued after falling 10ft from a popular North Yorkshire crag.

The 27-year-old was climbing on Almscliff Crag yesterday when he fell about 3m.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association members went to the scene after being called out about 9.15pm and helped ambulance service staff treat the man before stretchering him to a waiting ambulance.

Nine volunteer team members were involved in the rescue at the site near North Rigton, south-west of Harrogate.
