A walker was rescued after suffering a leg injury when she slipped at a Lake District beauty spot.

The 48-year-old was at Aira Force today when the incident happened.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 1.15pm when ambulance staff asked for assistance.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being stretchered from the site by team members and taken to a waiting ambulance.

The two-hour rescue involved 10 volunteer team members.
