Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident on Wales’s highest mountain.

North Wales Police said a nine-year-old boy was allegedly hit across his head and the back of his leg near the summit of Snowdon.

The alleged assault was committed about 2.30pm on Monday by a man using a walking stick.

A police spokesperson said: “The man was described as wearing a pale green shirt and pale green shorts.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Caernarfon Police Station on 101 quoting reference RC15124819.
