The injured caver was stretchered to Bull Pot Farm

A caver was rescued after suffering an injury underground in the western Dales.

The Cave Rescue Organisation was called out about 8.30pm on Tuesday when police contacted them to say the person had sustained a dislocated shoulder.

Team members made their way to the site in Pool Sink within the Three Counties system.

The injured caver was brought to the surface, where a team doctor and stretcher carriers were waiting. The casualty was then carried to Bull Pot Farm to an ambulance which took the caver to hospital for further treatment.

It was the Clapham-based team’s 82nd rescue of the year.
