Volunteer search dog handlers will be booting up thanks to an outdoor brand’s support.

Bogs Footwear will provide members of the Search and Rescue Dogs Association with insulated wellington boots to help keep their feet warm and dry during training and assessment exercises.

The US company’s Blaze boots provide insulation down to -40C. The deal which will see Sarda dog handlers kitted out in Bogs wellies from the 1 February will run for a minimum of 12 months.

Steve Ward, Sarda operational search dog training co-ordinator, said: “Long days in the cold and wet training and assessing mountain rescue search dogs can leave our feet numb with the cold. Bogs are renowned for their insulating properties and technical detail.

“They make the perfect partner for our training days.”

More information about the Bogs range is available on its website.
