Missing walker Cyprian Broekhuis

Police are appealing for help in finding a missing walker on the West Highland Way.

Officers said Cyprian Broekhuis spoke to his family late on Wednesday, but hasn’t made contact since.

They believe the 21-year-old from the Netherlands may have got lost on the shores of Loch Lomond. He was last seen at Cashel, north of Balmaha yesterday.

Police Scotland said he contacted his father in Amsterdam about 10pm on Wednesday.

A spokesperson said: “Cyprian has not yet got back in touch with family and we are eager to ensure he is safe and well.

“He was last heading north on foot at Cashel, Loch Lomondside on Wednesday afternoon.

“If anyone has seen Cyprian since this time, or knows his current whereabouts then please contact us immediately.

“We’d also urge Cyprian to get in touch if he sees this appeal so we can confirm he’s safe.”
