Mr Bilkhu's body was found on Ben More

Rescuers have found the body of a missing hillwalker on a southern Highlands munro.

Edinburgh man Herpreet Bilkhu was reported missing after going walking in the Crianlarich and Killin area.

The 43-year-old had last been seen on Monday. Police Scotland had said they were concerned for the walker’s welfare because he needed daily medication which he might not have had access to.

Police said in Stirlingshire said Mr Bilkhu’s body was found and recovered by officers and Killin Mountain Rescue Team on Saturday.

A police spokesperson said: “Herpreet’s family would like to thank all those who assisted in the search for him after he was reported missing on Friday, 18 March 2016.”
