A man was airlifted from a West Yorkshire beauty spot after falling and injuring himself.

The 52-year-old was scrambling on rocks at the Cow and Calf above Ilkley on Sunday when he fell.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was called out about 12.25pm and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance flew to the scene.

A rescue team spokesperson said: “The casualty had received head injuries and was treated by paramedics from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance before being stretchered to the helicopter.”
