A walker was stretchered from a Lake District fell after injuring herself.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Thursday to aid the 62-year-old from Yorkshire who slipped on the path beside Moss Beck at Newlands and injured her ankle.

The woman was stretchered to an ambulance that was waiting at Newlands Hause and she was then taken to Keswick Cottage Hospital.

The rescue involved 12 volunteers from Cockermouth MRT.
