A man who died after falling from a ridge in Snowdonia has been named.

Kenneth Steven Hands, of Oldbury in the West Midlands, came off Crib Goch on Snowdon late on Saturday morning.

The 35-year-old was with two others descending the ridge in worsening weather when he fell a ‘significant’ distance according to Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, which was called out to the incident.

The Caernarfon Coastguard helicopter joined 15 volunteer team members in the operation to reach the fallen walker, but his injuries proved fatal.
