Roger Fletcher was reported missing more than a month ago

Police searching for a walker who has been missing for more than five weeks said a man’s body has been found.

The discovery was made on Friday afternoon at Camas-luinie, near Dornie in Wester Ross.

Officers said the family of Roger Fletcher has been informed.

Mr Fletcher, 77, was reported missing on 5 June after heading out for a walk from his holiday accommodation at Bundalloch.

Kintail Mountain Rescue Team was joined in the search for Mr Fletcher by members of the RAF MRT, Search and Rescue Dogs Association handlers and animals, along with police dogs and officers.

Officers had appealed to walkers and drivers in the area for sightings of the missing man.

They also asked residents and visitors to check gardens, outbuildings and sheds in case Mr Fletcher had taken shelter.

Police Scotland said: “Formal identification will now take place and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
