Canoeist in river tragedy named
A canoeist who died after being trapped on a weir in a Yorkshire river was named as Mark Watson.The 37-year-old hospital worker from Swillington, Leeds, was pulled from the River Calder at Luddendenfoot near Halifax, but died in Calderdale Royal Hospital.Mr Watson and three others were using inflatable canoes when they got into trouble in the turbulent water around the weir.

School students will lead Peak moors research
